The mission of The Children's Friend Foundation is to promote prevention, heal suffering, and restore hope to those affected by the disease of addiction. We are particularly interested in funding powerful and optimistic media. Since this is an unusual approach to addiction, upon your request, we will send complimentary copies of both "Pleasure Unwoven," the award-winning documentary film funded by The Children's Friend Foundation, and last year's PSA scholarship contest winners so you can see what "powerful and optimistic" looks like to us. Please note, we are not looking for remakes of last year's winners--we want your students to be even more creative and innovative. Please send requests for videos to [email protected] and include your physical address. You and your students can also view previous years' student-produced scholarship-winning films at uhsffpsa.weebly.com.
The theme for the 2016 PSA Scholarship contest is "We Will." It is intended to be a call to action for peers to support each other in preventing addiction and protecting sobriety.
Our interest in this project is to promote addiction prevention. Filmmakers who take up this challenge will have the opportunity to think about addiction and its prevention, and to creatively express their ideas to their peers. We can think of no more powerful way to propagate peer-to-peer prevention, and invite your thoughtful consideration of this project.
The decision of the judges is final.
